About stephXstitch

StephXstitch is home to my original handmade cross stitch art, kits, and patterns. I specialize in cheeky, subversive, and pop culture cross stitch!

My stitches have been featured on Buzzfeed, The Huffington Post, The Chicago Reader, Time Out Chicago, Cross-Stitcher Magazine, London Sunday Times, Craft Room Crash, Paste Magazine, Town & Country Magazine, GoodHousekeeping.com, MrXStitch, Mashable, Crafternews.com, Steotch.com, Bust.com, OC Weekly, My Modern Met, and Uproxx.

My work has also appeared on Comedy Central's "Key & Peele".

All items are designed and handmade by Steph in a smoke-free and pet-free environment. It is also likely that Netflix, Lifetime Original Movies, and the wearing of a Snuggie were involved in the creation of these items.

About Steph

I am an artist, teacher, actor, and musician who resides in Chicago. I learned the art of cross-stitch from my grandmother and my mom when I was a wee child. I then promptly forgot about it for 20 years.

I got back into it as a hobby and a way to give unique gifts to friends and family. I especially get a kick out of making traditional samplers with naughty words and pop-culture references. I also love the meditative and therapeutic benefits of stitching.

I have now been selling online for over 6 years and pride myself in excellent products and customer service. I am the smallest of small businesses. This is a one-woman operation and lots of time and love goes into each and every one of my handcrafted pieces and original designs.

I can also be found selling in-person at Art Fairs and Crafts shows in the Chicago area, as well as teaching BYOB cross-stitch classes through Dabble.co!
